Privacy Policy
Nenrin is a web app operated by [Nenrin Company, LLC] (the "operator") for recording a person's own life story in their own words, optionally shared with a therapist the person chooses. This policy covers both the app (app.nenrin.ai) and this website (nenrin.ai). Questions go to hello@nenrin.ai.
This website
This website (nenrin.ai) sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts. The only data it collects is an email address, if you join the waitlist. We store it with the page you joined from. We use it only to tell you when Nenrin opens. We delete it on request.
What the app collects
- From Google, when you sign in: your name, email address, profile photo, and Google account ID.
- What you enter: lifeline events, life chapters, Life Log entries, people and relationships, values, your Wheel of Life, your North Star, and insights. Also optional tools such as the Enneagram self-report and the Johari Window, chat messages with Kiko, and voice that you choose to transcribe. The audio itself is never stored.
- Operational records: when you signed in, and a limited audit log of account and sharing events. The audit log never contains message text.
Health information
What you tell Kiko may include information about your physical or mental health. Nenrin handles all of it as sensitive. It is collected only to build your record. Nobody sees it until you share a category with a therapist you connect. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train any model.
Why it is collected
Only to sign you in and to run the app: storing what you enter, letting Kiko ask questions and write down your answers, and, if you choose, sharing categories with a therapist you connect. There is no other purpose.
Google user data
Google account information is used only to identify you and confirm you are allowed to sign in. Nenrin's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone other than the operator and a therapist you explicitly share a category with.
Kiko, the AI guide
Kiko is an AI. The messages you send are sent to Anthropic to generate replies. They are also stored so Kiko can refer back to earlier conversation. Kiko never assigns ratings or scores. Every message is checked by an automated safety classifier. Classifier results, not message text, may be recorded.
Voice
When you dictate, your speech is transcribed by Cloudflare Workers AI (Deepgram models) and the audio is discarded. When the spoken voice mode is on, Kiko's words are turned into speech by Cartesia.
Who processes your data
These companies act only to run the app, on the operator's behalf:
- Cloudflare: hosting, the database, and speech-to-text.
- Anthropic: generating Kiko's replies.
- Cartesia: the spoken voice, when voice mode is on.
- Google: sign-in.
Your data is stored in the United States.
Sharing with a therapist
- Nothing is shared by default.
- You choose which categories to share with each therapist, one therapist at a time.
- You can revoke a share at any time.
- Your therapist reads on screen only. They cannot download or export anything.
- You can see when your therapist last looked.
- A therapist may leave a short note. You can see every note.
Sharing, ads, and tracking
- Your data is not sold.
- There is no advertising.
- There are no tracking or analytics cookies. The only cookie is the sign-in session cookie. It holds a random identifier and nothing else.
Your choices and rights
- Export everything at any time as a zip of Markdown and JSON files.
- Delete your account and all of its data at any time. Deletion is immediate.
- Revoke Nenrin's access to your Google account from your Google account permissions.
- To ask for access, correction, or deletion, write to hello@nenrin.ai.
Residents of some states, including Washington, Nevada, and California, have specific rights under state consumer-health-data laws. They may use the same contact address.
You do not need to appeal a decision to have your rights honored. If you disagree with how we answered a request, reply to our message and we will review it again.
Retention
Your data is kept until you delete your account or ask the operator to delete it. Waitlist emails are kept until the launch mailing is done, or until you ask us to delete yours. Our processors keep data only as their own terms allow.
Breaches
If a breach of security affects your data, [Nenrin Company, LLC] will notify you without unreasonable delay and within the time the law requires.
Children
Nenrin is for adults 18 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this address with a new effective date.
